Политика конфиденциальности

Юридический текст политики приведён на английском языке — официальной является английская версия.

This Privacy Policy explains the information collection, use, and sharing practices of YouTube to PDF ("we," "us," and "our") in connection with the YouTube to PDF website converter, the YouTube to PDF browser extension, and the services we provide through them (the "Services"). By using any part of the Services, you understand that your information will be collected, used, and disclosed as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Our Principles

YouTube to PDF is designed around a few simple rules:

  • Privacy policies should be human-readable and easy to find.
  • We collect as little data as possible to operate the service.
  • No account is required — we never ask for your name, email or any personal profile to use the core conversion feature.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or behavioral profiling.

What the Service Does

YouTube to PDF turns the transcript (subtitles or captions) of a YouTube video into a formatted PDF document. You can use it two ways: through the converter on this website, or through our browser extension. In both cases you choose a video, and the link (URL) of that video is sent to our servers; our servers fetch the video's transcript from YouTube, build the PDF, and return the file for you to download. You never upload any files to us — we only receive the link you choose to convert and your conversion options (transcript language, timestamps on/off, light or dark page theme).

Information We Collect

We collect the limited information needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, and process payments for optional Premium features.

1. Anonymous installation ID. The first time you use the extension (or the website converter), a random identifier (a UUID) is generated and stored on your device — in the extension's browser storage, or in your browser's localStorage for the website. This ID is sent with each request (as the "X-User-ID" header). It is not linked to your name or identity. We use it to apply fair-use limits, prevent abuse, and recognize your free or Premium status.

2. The video link you submit. When you start a conversion, we receive the URL (and the video's public ID) of the video you chose. We only receive a link when you actively start a conversion — never from pages where you do not.

3. Technical and usage information, collected automatically by our servers: IP address and the approximate location (country) derived from it; browser type and language; conversion details (timestamp, chosen transcript language and options, file size, success or error result); per-installation usage counts (number of conversions, last-active time); and standard web-server logs (request timestamps, HTTP methods, response codes).

4. Local preferences. Your settings (interface language, transcript language, timestamps and theme choices) and the installation ID are stored locally on your device — in the extension's storage or the website's localStorage. If you have browser sync enabled, your browser may sync extension settings across your devices under your browser account.

5. Payment information (Premium only). If you purchase Premium, checkout and subscription management are handled on our billing site at app.youtube-to-pdf.com, and payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). You enter your payment-card details directly with Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number. We receive only a transaction/subscription reference and your Premium status. Stripe processes your payment data under its own Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).

What We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your browsing history or the content of pages where you do not start a conversion.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics trackers.
  • We do not collect your name, phone number, mailing address, or social-media profiles.
  • We do not run newsletters or marketing email through the service.

Cookies and Logging

Neither the website converter nor the extension sets advertising or tracking cookies. Our servers keep standard web-server logs (described above) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. If you purchase Premium, our billing provider may set functional cookies on its own domain (app.youtube-to-pdf.com) to maintain your login and subscription session; that is governed by the billing provider's own policy.

File Handling, Storage, and Deletion

  • Temporary processing: when you convert a video, its transcript is fetched and the PDF is built on our servers only for as long as needed to complete your request and let you download the result.
  • Automatic deletion: the generated PDF is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers shortly after your download completes (typically within minutes, and in any case within about one hour). We do not keep a copy of your documents.
  • No long-term storage: we do not permanently store, archive, or reuse your generated documents for any other purpose.
  • Deletion requests: you may request deletion of the usage records associated with your installation ID at any time by emailing jacksjazmin00@gmail.com.

How We Use Your Information

  • Fulfill conversion requests and deliver the generated PDF.
  • Enforce free-tier limits and unlock Premium access.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the service (reliability, performance, supported languages).
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and technical problems.
  • Conduct internal analytics on aggregate or de-identified usage to understand demand and improve the service.
  • Comply with the law and protect the rights, property, and safety of YouTube to PDF, our users, and the public.

We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the service and use such de-identified or aggregated data for any purpose.

When We Disclose Your Information

We share information only as needed to operate the service. The complete list of third parties with whom we share user data, the data each receives, and why, is:

1. Third-party cloud server and hosting infrastructure providers. Data they receive: the video link you submit, your IP address, your installation ID, and the temporary generated PDF. Purpose: to host the servers that fetch the transcript, build the document, deliver the file to you, and apply rate limits and abuse prevention. Generated files are automatically deleted shortly after your download (see above).

2. Stripe, Inc. — payment processor (Premium purchases only). Data it receives: the payment-card and billing details you enter directly on the checkout page, plus a subscription/transaction reference. Purpose: to process Premium payments and manage your subscription. We never receive or store your full card number.

3. Our billing and checkout site, app.youtube-to-pdf.com (Premium purchases only). Data it receives: your installation ID / Premium status and your login or subscription session. Purpose: to operate the Premium checkout flow and subscription portal.

We do NOT share your data with advertisers, advertising networks, data brokers, or third-party analytics and behavioral-profiling services — the service contains none of these.

Beyond the service providers listed above, we disclose information only: to comply with legal process; to enforce our terms and this Policy; to protect the rights, property, or safety of the service, our users, and the public; as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (any acquiring party must honor the commitments in this Policy); with your explicit consent; or in de-identified/aggregated form that cannot reasonably identify you.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the conversion you request); legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and run our business, where not overridden by your rights); legal obligation (to comply with applicable laws); and consent (where required by law — you may withdraw it at any time).

Your Choices and Data Subject Rights

Because the core service does not use accounts, the main control you have is your installation ID. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data associated with it by emailing jacksjazmin00@gmail.com (for the extension, the ID is shown on the settings page). You can stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the extension and no longer using the website, and you can clear your local data through your browser's storage controls.

EEA/UK (GDPR): subject to applicable exceptions, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We respond within 30 days (or as required by law) and may verify your identity first.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share; to request deletion; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise them, email jacksjazmin00@gmail.com. We respond within 45 days.

International Transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. Where we transfer personal data internationally (including outside the EEA/UK), we implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information: encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls for systems that handle data, logging and monitoring of system access, and automatic deletion of generated files shortly after download. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us at the address below.

Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact jacksjazmin00@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Data Retention

  • Generated PDFs: deleted automatically shortly after download (typically within minutes, at most about one hour).
  • Installation ID and usage records: retained for as long as needed to operate the service, enforce limits, and prevent abuse, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Web-server logs: retained for a limited period (approximately 90 days) for security and troubleshooting.
  • Payment records: retained by Stripe and our billing site as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

We may retain information longer where required by law or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Copyrighted Content

The service converts publicly available video transcripts and captions into documents for personal use such as study, research, and accessibility. By using the service, you represent that your use of any converted material complies with applicable law and the terms of the platform hosting the video. YouTube to PDF does not monitor or verify the legality of converted content; users are solely responsible for their use of the service.

If you believe content has been converted in a way that infringes your copyright, you may send a notice to jacksjazmin00@gmail.com including: your contact information; identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the allegedly infringing material; a statement of good-faith belief; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act; and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law.

Third-Party Links

The service may reference third-party websites or platforms (including YouTube itself). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties, and their privacy policies — not this one — govern your interactions with them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide more prominent notice as required by law. Your continued use of the service after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

Contact Us

If you have questions about this Policy or your data, or to make a privacy request, contact us at jacksjazmin00@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 14 business days (and within the timeframes required by GDPR/CCPA where applicable).
